 TURA: The Second Chief Minister’s Invitational Football Tournament kicked-off here at Ampati on Thursday with Zenith M Sangma, Co-Chairman of Meghalaya State Planning Board as the Chief Guest at the inaugural function.

According to Sangma, the winner of the tournament will get Rs 5 lakhs and the runner-up will get Rs 2.5 lakhs. The tournament will help boost the morale of the youth of the region, he said.

The first exciting match of the tournament was played between Resubelpara Sports Association and the Blue Max FC here at Ampati Stadium.

Resubelpara Sports Association lost to Blue Max in the tie-breaker.

The tournament has 12 participating teams and the final will be played on July 28.
