CORP not satisfied with RTI report

 NONGPOH: The Confederation of Ri-Bhoi People Central body (CORP) has expressed its unsatisfaction with the reply provided by Meghalaya Police on the RTI filed by the Confederation. In the RTI, the confederation had sought information over the recruitment of different posts being conducted by the Central Selection Board of Meghalaya Police for the recruitment of 1st battalion – 6th battalion in the state.

Speaking to this scribe, CORP Vice President, Friday Jalong said, “The Confederation had filed the RTI seeking information about the recruitment of all said Battalions in the state since December 2011 which would encompass all the information including the twelve points asked by the CORP. However, the PIO of the Central Selection Board of Meghalaya delayed to comply to the information as per information filed and the report was given till July 2012 that has violated the RTI rules, he said.

He also informed that the leaders of CORP tried to meet the Chairman of the Central Selection Board B.L Buaim in his office and also tried to reach him in his mobile to discuss the unsatisfied reports. They mentioned that they would meet the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and will submit the memorandum to him on this matter.
