Free Medical Camp

The New Age Welfare Society, Jail Road will organize a free medical camp on Sunday at Jail Road Puja Mandap and doctors of General Medicine Practitioner, Child Specialist Cardiologist, Diabetes specialist, neurologist, ortho specialist, eye special and dental specialist will be available during the camp. The registration will be done on the same day from 9 am.

 Awareness programme

The Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya will organize a special meeting, discussion, awareness programme on the issue pertaining to the treaty instrument of Accession and Annexed Agreement at Youth Hostel here from 9.45 am to 4pm on August 4.

 Unidentified Body

The body of one unknown male (45) who seems to be a Nepali was recovered by the police from Bhutia Market recently. The deceased was wearing brown and white sweater, white and blue shirt and grey white pant.

 National seminar

The Women’s College, Shillong is organizing a two-day national seminar on rural development in North East India: Challenges and opportunities at the college auditorium at 10am on July 27 and 28. Deputy Chief Minister BM Lanong will be present in the occasion as the chief guest on July 27.

 Condolence

The office of the principal of Kiang Nangbah government College Jowai held a condolence meeting at the college auditorium on Thursday to grieve the sudden death of PP Paslein, head of the English Department of this college. The college expressed its deepest sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.

 Accident

A truck, (ASOIAC – 7184) returning back to Jowai after unloading it at Guwahati overturned and went off the road just after crossing Pommura under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on the night of 24 July.
