NONGSTOIN: Dr. Jova Marak shot off her resignation letter to the Rambrai- Jyrngam Block Congress Committee (RJBCC) following the recent announcement that she would contest with a UDP ticket.

The RJBCC had no objections accepting the letter and said that they had no issues with her decision.

Earlier, Jova was expelled from the party informally following her absence at the party meeting in Rambrai.

Jova had claimed ignorance regarding the meeting that she was not informed about the same. Frustrated and saddened at the way things were turning out, Jova offered to resign from the race as a Congress ticket aspirant and turned to the UDP. The UDP was more than happy to take her into their fold. It may be mentioned that Rambrai Jyrngam AC has over 9000 Garo votes and she being the lone Garo candidate is one of the strong contenders for the upcoming elections.

There are four Congress ticket aspirants in the AC and the other parties are yet to announce their candidates. The more the candidates, the better the chance for Jova, said a political analysts of the area.

They say that the infighting in the Congress aspirants in Rambrai would probably see Jova skip pass them to register a comfortable win in the AC.
