SHILLONG: The ‘Voice of Hynniewtrep’, a page in the social networking site ‘Facebook’ which was operated by the militant outfit Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) is no longer available in the website.

The outfit was using the Facebook page to disseminate information about its activities and issue warnings to the State Government. The State Director General of police N Ramachandran, however, has denied any role of the State police in blocking the page. Earlier, the HNLC, through the same page, had

asserted its comeback with a group of “well-trained cadres, adapted to any kind of terrain and experts at handling sophisticated weapons.” The outfit had also used the same page to claim responsibility over the shooting at Lumdiengjri police station here.

The police, meanwhile, had neither confirmed nor denied the re-grouping claims made by the proscribed militant outfit.
