Schools set for Subroto Cup

 SHILLONG: For the first time, two schools from Jaintia Hills will represent the state in the national Subroto Mukherjee Cup in New Delhi next month.

Government Boy’s Higher Secondary School, Jowai will participate at the U-14 level while Amwi Jarain SS School qualified for the U-17 tournament.

In the final of the State Level Subroto Cup, on Friday, Government Boy’s defeated Mynken Christian Secondary School from Ri-Bhoi 1-0. The goal-scorer was Heibormi Tariang in the 28th minute.

Amwi Jarain beat Sibsing HSS from West Khasi Hills 2-0. Damehun Syih and Batskhem Tariang scored in the 18th and 25th minute.
