Shillong: Following the allegations against the BSF for threatening the members of the Nongmensong Dorbar Shnong, the FKJGP Nongmensong circle has condemned the act of the men-in-uniform stating that their presence is meant to ensure security and not harm the people.

“We strongly condemn this act of cowardice of the BSF Commandant who threatened to shoot the Rangbah Dong of Umkdait Nongmensong R Shanpru for objecting to the fencing by the BSF which is an encroachment into the locality”, FKJGP Nongmensong president P Pariong said.

The FKJGP also questioned the role of BSF personnel based at Mawpat. In this regard, the FKJGP has asked the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills to look into the matter and ensure that there is no sense of insecurity amongst the people living in that area or other places situated near the BSF camps in the district.
