Two militants surrender before BSF

Silchar: Two hardcore militants belonging to United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and People’s United Liberation Front (PULF-MA Laskar group) surrendered before the BSF on Sunday at Koirengi, sector headquarter of BSF CI (Ops), Manipur.

A spokesman of BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier said on sustained efforts and motivation of BSF, Boinao Simte alias Mangboi Simte (28), self-styled sargent major of UNLF and Hasan Ali alias Rojer alias R K (24), a self-styled private of PULF (MA Laskar group) surrendered before M L Batham, inspector general, BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier in the present of deputy inspector general, sector headquarter BSF CI (Ops) Manipur and other officials of BSF and Police at Koirengi on Sunday.

While, Boinao is a resident of Thanlon village of Curachandpur district, Hasan hails from Keirao Awang Leikai village of Imphal East district of Manipur. Boinao joined UNLF in December, 2001 and Hasan joined PULF (MA Laskar) in November, 2007, the sources added.

They have also laid down under arms and ammunitions before BSF during the surrender ceremony including two 9 mm Pistol with two magazines and five rounds of ammunitions.

Both the cadres had remained active members of their outfit before surrender. During the home coming ceremony M L Batham, IG of BSF’s Mizoram and Cachar Frontier welcomed both the surrendered cadres for joining in the main stream of civil society. (UNI)
