Row over Tendulkar’s ‘last rites act’

New Delhi: Any Indian will feel awful to see Sachin Tendulkar performing the last rites and Yuvraj Singh digging a grave.

The “in-auspicious scenes” performed by none other than Sachin Tendulkar, a member of Parliament, is being objected, and even the Board of Control for Cricket in India has got the complaints.

Now, a few top leaders of the cricketing world and even the master blaster himself wants to withdraw the advertisement or at least some footage of it.

Sachin being Sachin may be able to get relief by getting his “last rites act” removed, but somehow the interested parties are refusing to remove Yuvraj Singh’s footage from the advertisement.

Before the issue becomes viral, cricket managers in the country are busy debating what to do about the advertisement where the who’s who of the Indian cricket team are “digging their own grave” to sell the new retail chain shop.

The Sahara India Pariwar is, for the first time, entering the lucrative retail market estimated to be $350 billion with their high claims of “completely adulteration-free” shops.

The copy writing of this particular advertisement is so obnoxious that it almost threatens that if you won’t buy from the Sahara shop, the consumers will meet the fate — meaning death — as suggested by our great cricket stars including Sachin and Dhoni.

A sports event manger, who owns a successful company, asked, “Did Sachin not read even the story-board before acting in such an advertisement?” (Agencies)
