Three students of the College of Post-Graduate Studies (CPGS), Central Agricultural University, Umiam have successfully cleared the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) examination 2012 conducted by Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB), ICAR which is considered to be the epitome of agricultural scientific services in India.

The three students are Christy Berylnight K Sangma, Rumki Helsoise Ch Sangma and Badapmain Lyngdoh.

CPGS Umiam, the youngest college under CAU, Imphal, established only in 2007 has already created a position at the national level for its contribution to higher education in Agriculture in Northeastern India. Two more students, Handerson Chulet and Khreidinuo Pfukrei have also cleared the ASRB NET 2012 in the discipline of Plant Breeding.
