 SHILLONG: The All India Mahila Congress (AIMC) has removed the State Mahila Congress president Probity Nongpluh from her post.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the AIMC secretary Poonam Rani Wangkhen said Umroi Block Mahila Congress chief Bulbul Mawlong was also sacked. The decision to remove the duo from their respective posts was taken as per direction of the AIMC president Anita Verma. Meanwhile, noted advocate WHD Syngkon has been appointed as the chief legal advisor of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). This was informed in a notification issued by MPCC president DD Lapang.
