NONGSTOIN: With only three aspirants for the Congress ticket from the Mawshynrut AC, the fight became tougher with the announcement of two more MLA “wannabes”.

The previous candidates aspiring for the Congress ticket from the AC were Methodious Dkhar, Srally Rashir and Pelcy Snaitang. The new aspirants from the same AC are C Kharbhih and Robert Dkhar.

It may be mentioned here that Robert Dkhar is also the officiating president of the Mawshynrut Block Congress Committee (MBCC) while C Kharbhih is a lawyer by profession. Methodious Dkhar is the former President of the Youth Congress Shillong Lok Sabha. Pelcy Snaitang is a businesswoman while Srally Rashir is a former MDC from the constituency.

Sources inform that the voters in the area are in favour of a young and dynamic leader who can bring about developmental changes in the AC.

This is where fingers point directly at Methodious Dkhar. Amongst the five aspirants, Methodious is the youngest.

Intellectuals are of the opinion that Methodious is their best choice amongst the rest of the candidates as he being a youth could address their issue and has already served as the president of the Youth Congress of Shillong Lok Sabha and has a vibrant vision for tomorrow.
