EOIs floated for new power projects: Mondal

SHILLONG: Power Minister Abu Taher Mondal informed the House on Thursday that the State Government has already floated the Expression of Interests (EOIs) for new power projects which is proposed to be implemented in the State.

‘It is misleading to say that the Government has already signed the new power projects since we have only floated the EOIs,” Mondal said, while replying to a question raised by Opposition Leader Conrad K Sangma.

According to the Power Minister, there are a total of 26 power projects which the Government has identified, out of which, 16 projects are of higher version while the remaining are of lower version.

Replying to a supplementary question raised by the Opposition Leader, Mondal said that the Government has already conducted the feasibility studies before floating the EOIs on the power projects.

Joint Examiner of Local Accounts

Replying to a question raised by the Opposition Leader, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has informed that at present, the Government has notified the office of the Assistant Examiner of Local Accounts at Tura.
