Shillong: Police registered a case against a BSF personnel NC Daimari for allegedly molesting a 26-year-old lady near MES, Rynjah on Friday, 14 days after a complaint was lodged in this connection.

Police sources blamed the complainant Rulen T Naithem for the delay in registering the case saying that he (complainant) didn’t want to pursue the case without having a one-to-one with the accused.

Police finally registered the case as the accused did not respond to summons.

“We are investigating the matter”, a police official said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ravi Gandhi, PRO, BSF, said “We have constituted a court of enquiry to look into the matter and have asked the police to investigate as soon as possible.” “If the accused is found guilty, then he will be dealt with accordingly as per the law of the lands,” he added.

Naithem lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS on August 25 against Daimari for molesting his relative near MES, Rynjah here.
