Shillong: The Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong Border Area including Borsohra-Nonghyllam-Nongjri-Moheskola Area has demanded the State Government to speed up construction of a 25 km road from Ranikor Bridge till Nongjri while stating that the condition of the said road is pathetic and needed immediate repair.

According to a statement issued by the Synjuk here on Sunday, the general secretary John Paul Hashah said that the decision was taken after noticing the bad condition of the said road which causes much inconvenience to the people.

According to them, the Ministry of Commerce has also sanctioned Rs 22 crores for the purpose of black topping and extension of this road and the PWD has already called for a tender in the month of May-June this year but till date, nothing has been done to make possible arrangements to repair the road.

Hashah also urged the police department to release the IB of the PWD at Nonghyllam and also asked the Superintendent of Police of South West Khasi Hills Sylvester Nongtnger to look for another office for the police outpost since the office is at present needed by the PWD.
