Shillong: One girl was allegedly raped by two persons at Golf Link, Mawpun on September 6.
The culprits, who are absconding, have been identified as Tilberth A Sangma and Tengsang M Sangma.
Police suspect that the culprits are somewhere in Tura as their homes are located there. However, the two accused have not been traced yet despite search of their residences.
“We have contacted the police in Tura to assist us in catching these two accused as soon as possible,” a police source said here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the State police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the robbing of a couple at Golflink.
The arrested persons have been identified as Kitbok Rani, Bantei Marbaniang and Joseph Nongspong of Lumshyiap.
In another case, police arrested one Pherlin Lyngdoh for cheating one Skhemlin Mawlieh of Rs 9,200 by falsely promising him a driver’s job in MeECL.
The accused, who was arrested on the same day the complaint was filed, has been remanded in 14-day judicial custody.
