Shillong: After demolishing the infiltration check gate erected by the KSU at Byrnihat on Tuesday night, the State Government has warned the NGO not to take the law into its hands.

“No legal sanction has been granted to any NGO to act as law enforcers, they can only assist police in detecting illegal migrants”, Chief Secretary WMS Pariat said here on Wednesday.

Everyone should act as per the law, he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the KSU North Khasi Hills District unit erected the Infiltration check gate which they named as “KSU Infiltration Check Gate” at 20th Mile area in Byrnihat.
