Felicitation

The Archery Association of Meghalaya will felicitate Matsiewdor War Nongbri at the Khasi National Dorbar Hall at Mawkhar on Wednesday at 5pm. Chairman of the Meghalaya State Law Commission, AH Scott Lyngdoh, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Prohibition

The Sub Divisonal Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division has promulgated Section 144 CrPC prohibiting the use of excavators or extraction of boulders along the whole bank and river bed of Shella Umiam and Thariaghar rivers.

Coaching centre

The coaching cum guidance centre for Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes, Shillong will be conducting a 14-day training programme from October 1 for candidates preparing for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) examination to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.

Foundation Day

Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai celebrated its 46th Foundation Day on September 15 which was attended by college teachers, staffs and students. Education Minister Prof RC Laloo attended the function as the chief guest.

Blood donation

St. Anthony’s College will organise the 2nd Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday. The programme will start from 10am onwards at H Gordon Roberts Hospital, Jaiaw.

Golden Jubilee

The Shillong Academy will organise a Golden Jubilee inaugural celebration on Thursday at 11am on the school premises. Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Dorbar notice

The Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun has instructed all house owners irrespective of caste, creed and religion, in different wards of Laitumkhrah to refrain from letting out their houses/premises to any person without proper and valid documents and also without verifying their antecedent and integrity. The Dorbar has also directed proprietors of private hostels, guest houses, house owners keeping students as tenants in Laitumkhrah area to impose adequate restrictions upon the hostellers or tenants for maintenance of conduct and discipline in public places.
