Several hurt in road mishaps

 SHILLONG: There have been several injuries reported in seperate road accidents in the state. Two vehicles travelling in the same direction were involved in an accident at 4th Mile, Upper Shillong on September 22.

A Maruti 800 (MLO5H – 1388) local taxi travelling towards Upper Shillong was hit from behind by a truck (MLO5G – 2154). Sheba Rynghang (28) a passenger of the local taxi sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Lawmali.

In another incident, a truck driver including the helper sustained injuries when the truck overturned at Sohryngkham, East Khasi Hills on the September 22 at 12:42 A.M. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Smit helped in shifting the driver Rupant Nath (35) and Pradeep Nath (18) to Shillong Civil Hospital.

A TATA Indica (ASO1S – 8357) travelling to Tura from Guwahati hit a tree on the side of the road after the car developed some a technical snag.

The incident happened at Gokolgre under Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills Hills on September 21 at 11:52 P.M. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Rari helped in shifting Abdul Sasig (26), Sarditha Sangma (24) and Babul Hussain (27) to Tura Civil Hospital.

In a motorcycle accident, Sengrak Sangma (35) sustained injuries after he fell of his motorbike when it skidded at Soinang under Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills on the September 21 at 8:48 P.M. The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Resubelpara helped in shifting Sengrak Sangma to Resubelpara CHC.

A Mahindra Bolero travelling towards Shillong from Nongstoin went off the road and down into a gorge at Laitjem under Mylliem Block, East Khasi Hills on September 21 at 12:21 P.M.

The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Mawphlang helped in shifting S. Naresh Shyemla (28) to Shillong Civil Hospital.
