MeECL official assaulted by miscreants

TURA: The Assistant Executive Engineer of Dalu Distribution Sub-Division, West Garo Hills was allegedly assaulted by some miscreants on Thursday night at his official residence in Dalu.

Sources informed that, at around 10:00 pm some miscreants had barged into the official residence of the Assistant Executive Engineer and physically assaulted him, assuming he was responsible for the disruption of power supply in the area which in fact was beyond his control.

Regarding the assault, the Officers of MeECL, Garo Hills have expressed their strong condemnation against the cowardly act of the miscreants who had assaulted the MeECL official and said that the culprits should be booked and be given an apt punishment.

The MeECL Engineers Association, Garo Hills Zone and the Association of Power Engineers, Garo Hills Unit has urged the District Administration of West Garo Hills to immediately book the culprits within 48 hours after the publication of this report failing which, the Associations said that the MeECL employees of entire Garo Hills will be compelled to resort to a stronger course of action.
