NONGPOH: The Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF), Umsning and Nongpoh circles, detained four drug suppliers at Byrnihat after receiving specific inputs about their presence in the area on Sunday. The four— Ali Hussaiñ Lasker (30) from Sunapur, Utpal Biswas (33) from 9th Mile, Monuch Sharma (27) from Jorabat and Ebengo Sema (32) from Umling— were involved in supplying drugs in the entire Ri-Bhoi district.

The RBYF also seized three bottles of drugs, suspected to be brown sugar, mobile phones and a Maruti Car AS 25 A 6680, from the drug suppliers.

“The Federation on receiving specific inputs about the presence of drug suppliers at 15 mile in Byrnihat immediately rushed to the spot and nabbed the culprits”, RBYF Umsning circle president PP Kylla told this scribe.

During interrogation, the detainees revealed that they usually supply drugs at Byrnihat 15 Mile, Umling, Umsning, Byrwa and Umiam. The four were later handed over to the Nongpoh Police.
