Intl day of elder persons held at Mawshynrut

The Office of the District Social Welfare Officer organised a two-day programme at Mawshynrut Block as a mark to observe the ‘International Day of Elder Persons’ on September 28 and October 1.

A walkathon, followed by a free eye screening camp was organised in collaboration with Bansara Eye Care, Nongstoin and general checkup at CHC. Around 120 patients attended the health camp.

A meeting for the elder persons was also organised at the Block Information Centre, Mawshynrut Block.

On this day a special song was presented by S Iawphniaw (85) followed by distribution of prizes to the winner of the walkathon and also the oldest couple.
