The State Bank of India, Samanda on Wednesday opened its branch on the premises the Deputy Commissioner’s office of East Garo Hills East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner VK Mantri was the chief guest.
Workshop
The district e-Governance society, East Garo Hills organised a day-long workshop on generating awareness on national electronic government plan (NeGP) and e-Services at Williamnagar Circuit House on Thursday.
Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills has declared Dry Day on October 24 in the entire district on account of Durga Puja festival. All IMFL licensed premises, bars, canteen, country will remain closed on that day.
Food fest

HNPF plea
The Hynniewrep National People Forum (HNPF) has suggested the State Government to implement the inner line permit in the state to check the menace of influx in the state. The forum also suggested that the complete mapping of all the residents of the state should be done by updating the 1951 national register of citizens.
