NONGSTOIN: The West Khasi Students’ Union (WKSU) has appealed to the State Government to upgrade the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Rambrai to a Community Health Centre (CHC).

WKSU Rambrai Unit President Yarwin said that the PHC at Rambrai was too small to cater to the needs of the people of the area. He said that the PHC was used by 40 villages and the PHC could not house the increasing number of patients. He added that there were insufficient doctors for the patients.

(Yarwin further said that the medical equipments and facilities were lagging behind in these modern times and said only an up gradation to a CHC would ensure health for all there.

In this regard the WKSU Rambrai Unit has decided to meet the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) West Khasi Hills District.)
