One dead in road mishap

SHILLONG: One Lanchester Lyngdoh (35) of Mawlai Nongkwar died on the spot after the scooter, he was riding on, was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle at Mawiong Mecofed on Sunday.

According to the police, Lyngdoh was returning from Umiam to Shillong when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at around 10pm on Sunday. The police stated that the driver of the unknown vehicle fled from the spot soon after the accident. “We are investigating into the matter,” police said.
