Rape cases

On Sunday at around 1.30 pm, Walambok Jungai (18) attempted to rape a minor girl (13) at Amlarem in West Jaintia Hills.

On Sunday at around 5.46 pm, one Elizar Tariang attempted to rape a girl at Shnong Rim village in East Jaintia Hills. Police have arrested the accused.

A complaint was lodged at Laban PS on October 26 against a 15-year-old teenager for raping an 8-year-old girl at Mylliem Mawrie in East Khasi Hills in April 2012. Police have arrested the accused.

Khliehriat Police arrested one Elizar Taring (18) of Shnongrim village in East Jaintia hills district for allegedly attempting to rape a 20-year-old girl of the same village on Sunday. However, both the accused and the victim and her family members have come to an understanding by way of compromise at the Khliehriat District Court.

Threat cases

On October 26, one Phran Tariang threatened his sister Phol Tariang with dire consequences at Umladkhur in West Jaintia Hills.

On October 26 at around 9 am, one Appingsing Sangma threatened one Polendro Momin with dire consequences at Chokpot South Garo Hills.

A complaint was lodged at Lumdiengjri Police Station that on Monday at around 4 pm, one Banjied Nongrum molested one lady and also threatened to kidnap her daughter. Police have arrested the accused.

Unidentified body

On Tuesday at around 6.30 am, an unidentified male body was recovered from Ri-Bhoi Sumo Stand, Lumdiengjri.
