Car thieves apprehended

SHILLONG: Acting on a tip off, Shillong Police Special Cell has apprehended six people including four from Assam in connection with a car theft case from Upper Shillong on Friday. The arrested people have been identified as Mohammed Nazrul Ali Islam (32) of Nalbari, Raju Boro (22) of Ganeshpara, Mohammed Hasmat Ali (48) of Barpeta, Raj Thakuria (23) of Mongoldoi, Kamal Rasalli (29) of Madanriting and KH Devaratta of Imphal, Manipur. The police recovered one white Bolero (AS01 AV 5117) and one Maruti Wagon R (ML05 F 7584) which is used in the racket which belongs to one Rasalli who is working at the Rani Motors as a salesman for pre-owned vehicles. Later, the police also arrested one Dorji Namgyal of Madanriting in this connection.
