Kezo to assume charge next week: State Police

 SHILLONG: Meghalaya Police on Friday said senior police official B Kezo will be taking over as the State DGP in the coming week and in this regard, necessary directions are being communicated by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to the Nagaland Government where Kezo has been on deputation since May.

Reacting to a news report that appeared in The Shillong Times in this regard, the Police said on Friday that the State Security Commission, headed by the Chief Minister, had short listed five eligible IPS officers to be selected by the State Government.

The State Government, in its discretion, selected B Kezo, a 1978 batch IPS officer to be the next DGP of Meghalaya.

Kezo also informed on Friday that he would be taking over as Meghalaya DGP shortly.

According to the Meghalaya Police, the decision of the State Government regarding the selection of Kezo was duly communicated to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is the Cadre Controlling Authority, with a request to repatriate Kezo to his cadre to take over as the DGP of Meghalaya.
