SHILLONG: Social Welfare Minister JA Lyngdoh on Saturday handed the pensions under the Chief Minister Special Assistance Scheme for infirm, widows and disabled in Marbisu, East Khasi Hills.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries from the area were given assistance of Rs 500 per month in which the beneficiaries were clubbed under three categories- Infirm, disable and widow.

Speaking at the function, JA Lyngdoh showered praised on the Chief Minister for the scheme which is his brain child while urging upon the beneficiaries to work in hand with the Government so that more schemes can be implemented for their benefits.
