NONGPOH: To pressurize the State Government especially the Authority Concerned of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to pay heed to the demand of the Ri Bhoi Youth Development & Social Organization (RBYDSO) to carve one more constituency for the 4-Umsning MDC seat, on Saturday, the Organization had gained another support which is from the Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong (SRS) and also the Rangbah Shnong (RS) of villages falling under Umsning Constituency.

In an emergent meeting held at Umsning, The RBYDSO had again clarified on their demand for another MDC seat constituency that will be in Umsning.

The organization had also reminded that on 2008 the Executive Committee of the KHADC had brought up the proposal for another MDC seat in Ri Bhoi District but this has been pending till date. Earlier in the meeting, SRS and Rangbah Shnong of villages under Umsning Constituency after a brief discussion over the demand for another MDC seat at 4-Umsning Constituency, took the decision to give full support to the RBYDSO and also encouraged the Organization to move forward till their demand is met by the KHADC and State Government.

The RBYDSO after the meeting had taken the decision to meet the CEM of the KHADC, PN Syiem at his office chamber on the November 7 to discuss on the demand and also to pressurize on him for another MDC seat for Umsning Constituency for the benefit and the welfare of the Umsning citizens.

Meanwhile, The SRS through its president R.B Shadap had slammed the four existing MDC representing four constituencies mentionable, Dr C Lyngdoh (Dr Bom) from Nongpoh Constituency, Otril Pamshong from Mawhati constituency, Fabian Lyngdoh from Umroi and Artist Rani from Jirang constituency for their uninterest and having no voice to pressurize the concerned authority of the KHADC for carving another MDC seat constituency at Umsning.
