MPCC team calls on Sonia

 New Delhi: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief DD Lapang, former Union Minister Vincent H Pala and host of other state leaders on Monday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her official residence. It was a courtesy call, Lapang said.

Chief Ministers from Congress-ruled states and all PCC chief from the NE region attended the party’s mega rally at Ramlila Ground here on Sunday. “We also thanked Madam for calling such a huge rally after a long gap,” Lapang, who is also Chairman of the North East Congress Coordination Committee, said. Pala, meanwhile, hosted a dinner for the officer bearers of the MPCC and others at his residence after the rally.
