Assam Tribune’s chairman passes away

Guwahati: The Chairman of Assam Tribune Group of Newspapers, the oldest media organization in the north East India, Tulsi Govinda Baruah passed away at his residence at Rajgarh here on Saturday due to old-age ailment. He was 87 and is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of close relatives. The news of his death cast a pall of gloom in the city as a large number of people rushed to his residence as well as the media house on hearing about his death. He was cremated at Nabagraha crematorium in the city in presence of a large number of people and noted citizens.
