East Khasi Hills win opening cricket match

SHILLONG: The Inter District Cricket Tournament (U-25) commenced on Wednesday in Polo.

In the opening match, played between Shillong Cricket Association and East Khasi Hills, the former won the toss and decided to bat first, scoring 124 all out in the allotted 35 overs.

Raj Biswa and Sylvester Myliempdah scored 31 runs each while Bijon Dey and Amiangshu Sen claimed three wickets each for East Khasi Hills.

In reply East Khasi Hills won the match with a score of 128-9 in 34.4 overs.

A match-winning partnership between Chaman Pushp and Anzar Ali scoring 42 and 35 runs respectively made the win possible.

Dathew Syngkon claimed 4-19 for the losing side, a terrific performance that included a hat-trick.
