SHILLONG: The Lok Janshakti Party held a general meeting recently to discuss the general preparedness of the party for the upcoming election.

The meeting could not finalize the constituencies for fielding of candidates since the national party meeting would be held in New Delhi only next month.

To gear up the party’s preparation, Petrus Umdar, Jerry Well and Alexander Marwein have been appointed as the district presidents of East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi and South West Khasi Hills respectively.

The meeting also recommended the name of Michael Warjri for the post of the state president of the party’s Kisan (farmer) cell.
