SHILLONG: Members of the Mawsiatkhnam Block Congress Committee on Tuesday refuted the allegations against Mawlai MLA FS Cajee by former president of the committee, Miktor Lapang, with respect to lack of infrastructure in the area.

Lapang, who resigned as the president of the Mawsiatkhnam BCC recently along with other members to join the UDP Mawlai circle had alleged the local MLA of being a mere talker since development of the area was yet to take full shape.

Discarding these allegations, general secretary of the committee, Hontoroy Nongpluh, said the accusations are nothing but political tricks since elections are nearing.

He stated that the Mawlai MLA had been contributing a lot to the development of this area from water supply, roads to other development schemes.

“Lapang was given two work orders by the MLA to implement the footpath meant for the village but we don’t know what drove him into acting like this,” Nongpluh said.
