Obstruction to police

Police on Tuesday apprehended the secretary of HANM Byrnihat unit, Goldenstar Khongwar (36), James Ranee (29) of Mawlai Nongkwar and Banshanbor Lapang (35) of Iewrynghep, a peon at KHADC, for obstructing the police while they were conducting a vice raid at York Restaurant at Motphran.

Overloading

Madanriting Traffic Branch on Tuesday compounded 15 taxis for overloading and realized fine of Rs 5000.

Theft

On November 24, unknown miscreants stole eleven cell phones valued around Rs 18,000 from the shop of one Suraj Prasad at Chokpot Bazar, South Garo Hills.

Vandalism

One Sharmai Phalanki lodged a complaint at Nartiang PIC that on November 21, Son Surong, Secretary of VDP Mynsngat village and Mon Hadia, President of JSU Mynsngat village, destroyed her house at Mynsngat village in West Jaintia Hills.

Illegal operation

Purankar K Sangma, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Tura lodged a complaint at Phulbari PS that fifteen persons – Habibur Rahman, Moynal Haque, Sirajul Islam, Attur Rahman, Sahat Ali, Sirajur Islam, Zahanur Ali, Satjen Sangma, Probash Sangma, Sohor Ali, Ali Hussain, Akri Zaman, Mondol Sheikh, Raju Sheikh and Balla Sheikh, were illegally operating their sawmills in Bhaitbari, West Garo Hills. He also lodged another complaint at Phulbari PS that seven persons – Saiful Islam, Noor Zamal, Mosta Hussain, Jammedi Hoque, Ali Hussain, Rajiul Hoque and Moijal Hoque – were illegally operating their sawmills in Chibinang area in the district.
