Annual Social Meet

A social group, ‘Laha Tynrai’ will organise the 2nd Annual Social Meet on December 9 at Seng Khasi College in Jaiaw from 10:30am onwards. The group has invited all the youth of the Seng Khasi Sein Raij from all over the state to be part of this annual meet.

 AIDS day observed

World AIDS Day was observed at Jongksha village, East Khasi Hills on Saturday by a Christian NGO World Vision who attempted to engage with the village leadership and people of Mawkynrew Block, by using performing arts to communicate the message of protection and care.

 Music concert

The North Eastern Service AIR Shillong is organising a musical concert of choir music entitled, ‘Goodwill Concert’ in collaboration with Doordarshan on December 4 at 4.14pm. It will be featuring Guwahati’s KTP Choir of Assam, Laban Presbyterian Church Choir of Meghalaya, Blessed choir of Manipur, BESY Choir of Mizoram, Minister Hill Baptist Church Youth choir of Nagaland, KERYGMA choir of Meghalaya and others. The concert will be broadcast live by the capital stations of AIR in the North East and also by Doordarshan.

 Office bearers

The executive committee of All India Garo Union headquarters on Saturday elected new office bearers of the organization with Elberth Marak as president, GG Momin as the vice president, WM Sangma as secretary General, Victor Ch Momin as the additional secretary general for headquarters and Felix Sangma as additional secretary general for regions.

 Congratulations

The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) congratulated former Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) president Samuel Jyrwa for being elected as the new Chairman of the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO).
