SHILLONG: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Sunday dismissed the concern that the decision by the wife of late NCP legislator Mason Singh Sangma, Mrs Bluebell R Sangma, to contest the upcoming election from Chokpot on an NCP ticket, would have any impact on the Purno Sangma-led party.

“The recent development will not have any impact and NPP will win the seat,” NPP leader Conrad Sangma said.

The NPP leader also informed that Mason Singh Sangma was planning to contest from Baghmara and not from Chokpot.

Mason Singh had defected to the NPP before his demise in September.
