tanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Monday laid emphasis on recruitment of sports teachers for all primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools.

He directed the department of education to formulate a policy to regularise the plan. Stating that there had been a rise in sporting activities in the state in recent times, he said “I would credit this development to the government’s vibrant and pragmatic sport policy and special attention given to sporting activities in the village, district and state levels.”

When informed about 15 registered associations for sports in the state, he said the affiliated organisations should be duly registered and recognised by the mother association at the national level.

He asked the sports department to keep provisions for inviting coaches from outside Arunachal and said youths from the state have the potential to master and excel in national and international arenas.

Tuki has also asked the department of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Sports Authority of Arunachal to prepare a detailed calendar of the tournaments being organised annually. (PTI)
