 New Delhi: In a rare feat, Sabira Aalia Dkhar, a medical student from Meghalaya was on Sunday awarded a gold medal from the prestigious North America Alumni Association as the topper.

Sabira, who completed MBBS from the Lady Hardinge College, in University of Delhi, was awarded the medal and a certificate in a function here. She scored the highest in her studies in ENT.

Every year, very few students receive this award from the Association as best student but Sabira was the lone student for the award year 2011, varsity sources said.
