General meet
The general meeting of Srimanta Sankardev Cultural Centre, Bishnupur held recently elected a new executive committee under Dr Utpal Hazarika and Satya Gogoi as the president and general secretary respectively. A namghar sub-committee was also formed under Jyoti Mazumdar and Harendra Talukdar respectively.
Winter fest
Kyllang Rock 2012, a winter festival and an electoral awareness and pre-Christmas celebration was organized by the Mairang Civil Sub-Division Officers’ Club at Mairang recently. An auto-rickshaw run was also organised on the occasion.
Workshop
The Directorate of Census Operations, Meghalaya, will organize a two day workshop on data dissemination of Census 2011 on ‘Meghalaya in Transition’ on Thursday and Friday at Hotel Majestic, Polo from 10 am.
Clarification
Members of the 3ME Entertainment on Wednesday clarified that the headlines Technicality and acting needs improvement (ST, Dec 19) may not augur well and could be misleading, knowing that the title is not exactly meant for the film in question as such.
Ambulance
The KSU Pyndensakwang Unit, led by of South West Khasi Hills District on Wednesday donated an ambulance to the residents of Sakwang and nearby villages. The ambulance was handed over to the villagers by Augustar Jyrwa, general secretary of the KSU Central Body.
