SHILLONG: The Leader of Opposition Conrad Sangma on Friday asked the Transport Minister, AT Mondal to speed up the process of shifting of Umkiang Transport Check Point to Ratacherra. The Government approved the shifting on May 16 this year.

According to Sangma, the Dorbar Shnong of Ratacherra has approached him to look into the matter and it’s found that the matter is being delayed now for several months due to contradictory stand taken by some officials of the department. “I request you to look into the matter at the earliest,” the letter added.
