UDP MDC urges public to question

SHILLONG: Sitting UDP MDC from Mawlai constituency Embhah Syiemlieh has made it clear that the people of the constituency were free to file RTIs on the implementation of the various implemented by the MDCs in the past three and half years from the office of the Khasi Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

“I would be very happy if people scrutinized the MDC schemes which I have allotted to the various localities under Mawlai constituency. The fact is that I want people to know how I have tried my best to implement the various schemes in a transparent manner,” Syiemlieh who is contesting on a UDP ticket from Mawlai constituency stated while speaking at a meeting after inaugurating an internal motorable road and two public taps which he had initiated at Mawlai Kynton Massar here on Thursday.

He also said that the efforts on his part for bringing in development in the constituency by way of an MDC scheme is very meager when compared to other major schemes of the Government.

“But what gives me inner satisfaction is that I have managed to implement the schemes in a clean and transparent manner,” the UDP sitting MDC said.

Meanwhile, he claimed that he has also been trying to provide financial support to the various sports club and Seng Samla in the various localities of the constituency through his own salary.

The UDP sitting MDC also said that the people are also free to collect information on the financial support which he has given to various associations and sports club through his salary. “The people can collect the information from the UDP party office at Mawlai Nonglum,” he added.

On the occasion, Syiemlieh also donated a total amount of Rs 50,000 to the Kynton Massar Dorbar Shnong while he donated another Rs 20,000 to the Dorbar Shnong for its Diamond Jubilee celebration which concluded on December 29.
