JOWAI: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two persons identified as Marwi Phawa of Tyrshang village and Crosswell Rasmut of Wahrymbai village while she was on her way back home from Iawpynsin, Wahiajer on December 31 last.
The woman lodged a complaint with Ummulong Police that the accused also assaulted and robbed her of Rs 6000. While police arrested Phawa, Rasmut surrendered before Jowai police on Sunday.
Police informed that Phawa admitted to his crime.
