Two coal businessmen found dead in Jaintia Hills

 JOWAI: The bodies of two coal businessmen – Wik Latam (45) and Tro Tangliang (47) – both of Myntriang village in East Jaintia Hills district were recovered from a place called ‘Riat Iajaw’ near Kyndong-tuber village in West Jaintia Hills on Saturday afternoon.

“Their bodies were were found with their throats slit,” Myntriang Rangbah Shnong, Kondrick Tangliang said, while adding that Wik Latam’s vehicle was missing.

According to the Rangbah Shnong, Latam and Tangliang had left their village on Friday for Shangpung.

“They left for Shangpung a day before Sohkymphor market day to arrange payments for coal labourers working in their coal mines but failed to returned home on Friday,” the Rangbah Shnong said, adding that they had around Rs 6 lakh in their possession.
