First randomization of EVMs held

NONGSTOIN: The first randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for 35 -Ranikor (ST) Assembly Constituency and 36-Mawkyrwat (ST) Assembly Constituency was held on Tuesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mawkyrwat, in presence of District Election Officer A Mawlong and Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge Election, KL Nongbri, where representatives of various political parties including the Congress, UDP, HSPDP, NPP, NCP, KHNAM and Independent candidates were present.

Earlier, Nongbri briefly explained the representatives of the political parties about the functioning and accuracy of the EVMs which they had checked during the mock poll conducted earlier.

He also appealed the representatives of the political parties to inform the people of their respective areas who have not enrolled themselves to come forward for enrolment on January 25, which is the National Voters day, where enrolment will be carried out in each and every polling station by the Booth Level Officers.
