MMSA calls off stir

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Medical Services Association (MMSA) on Thursday suspended its 24-hour cease work call on Friday following an assurance from Health Minister Rowell Lyngdoh to constitute an inquiry committee to look into the Mahendraganj CHC assault case.

The committee will be headed by the Secretary of Health KW Marbaniang and will include the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of South West Garo Hills, Director of Health Services-Medical Institution (MI) and the District Medical Health Officer as members.

The committee will submit its report within 14 days.
