Nochi Sangma (20 F), a pillion rider, fell off the motorbike and sustained injuries when it skidded at Rongrenggiri Baija under the Samanda Block, East Garo Hills on January 16 at noon. Nochi Sangma was shifted to Williamnagar Civil Hospital for medical attention.

In another motorcycle related accident, a motorist sustained injuries when the motorbike went into a drain on the side of the road at Malchapara under the Betasingh Block, South West Garo Hills in the wee hours of the morning on January 16. The injured, one Sandisor Hajong (22 M) to Betasingh PHC.

One person died on the spot when a Mahindra Bolero travelling towards Diengpasoh overturned when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the Umkhen Bridge on the Shillong by-pass road January 15 evening. The injured, one Malisha War Malai (18 M) and one Melida Nongrum (50 F) were shifed to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong. The others who suffered minor injuries were administered first aid at the scene of the accident.

Fourteen people, all occupants of a Mahindra Max (ML10A – 3387) bound for Mawhati from Shillong, sustained injuries when the vehicle hit a tree on the side of the road near the viewpoint at Ryndang Briew, Shillong on the evening of January 15. The 14 injured victims were shifetd to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

In another, multi causality incident reported from Rari, West Garo Hills, a Mahindra Pick-up truck (MLO8 – 9128) travelling towards Anogre from Rari Bazaar overturned at a turning near Rari PHC on the NH 51. The casualities, Gahen Marak (38 M), Johet Marak (30 M), Gomoni Sangma (40 F), Rajib Marak (20 M), Timen Sangma (30 M), Bishnu Basumatry (30 M), Dinson Sangma (18 M), Timson Marak (25 M), Dikki Sangma (21 M), Karni Sangma (35 M), Jamen Sangma (20 M), Noksansi Sangma (5 F), Herman Sangma (52 M) and Willingbirth Sangma (23 M) were shifted to Rari PHC. The incident happened on the afternoon of January 15.

A helper of a heavy duty earth digging machine (JCB) sustained injuries after he fell off from the vehicle near the Police Outpost at Nengkhra under Samanda Block, East Garo Hills on January 15 in the morning. The injured, Suraj Rai (27 M) was shifted to Williamnagar Civil Hospital.

A driver of a Maruti Alto (MLO8B – 8880) sustained injuries when the vehicle went into a drain on the side of the road when the vehicle developed some technical snag at Wadanang under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills, half an hour past midnight on January 14. The injured, one Rambo Marak (24 M) was shifted to Tura Christian Hospital.

A motorist and a pillion rider sustained injuries when they fell off the motorbike after it skidded near MECOFED office at Mawlai Mawiong in the afternoon on January 14. The injured, one Mahindra Dorjee (20 M) and one Anand Singh (16 M) were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

A local taxi (MLO5D – 5258) which was bound for Lapalang was involved in an accident with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Saw Lad, Madanriting on the evening of January 14. The driver of the local taxi, Sanjit Sinha (29 M) was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

Salingbarth Sangma (17 M) riding a cycle sustained injuries after a collision with a motorbike at Makaduripara under Gasuapara Block, South Garo Hills on the evening of January 14. Salingbarth Sangma was shifted to Dalu CHC.

A motorist and a pillion rider sustain injuries when a truck in the process of overtaking collided with the motorbike at 16th Mile, Tura during the late afternoon of January 1. The motorbike was proceeding towards Dalu when the incident took place. The injured, one Gesterfield D. Sangma (20 M) and one Robert Sangma (38 M) was shifted to Tura Civil Hospital for medical attention.

A Mahindra Pick-up truck travelling towards Songsak from Tura overturned at Selbalgre under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The casualities, Ansrang Sangma (25 M), Sengbis A. Sangma (23 M), Chesin Sangma (56 F), Nantina Sangma (20 F), Balei Sangma (18 F), Naman R. Marak (21 M), Gregita Marak (20 F) and Asan M. Sangma(30 M) were shifted to Tura Civil Hospital. The incident happened early on the evening of January 13.

A TATA Sumo (MZ01G – 9712) coming from Mizoram and travelling towards Guwahati drove off the road and into a paddy filed on the side of the road on the Jowai by-pass near the Myntdu Bridge, on January 13 in the morning. The injured Aliana (22 F), Darte (44 F), Dotmensung (24 F), PC Lawn Thanga (35 M), Nagan Kumar (30 M) and Zonun Sanga (35 M) were shifted to Jowai Civil Hospital. PC Lawn Thanga was then later shifted to the Military Hospital, Shillong.
