Karnataka: ‘My fight against corruption should not and will not stop,’ Gandian Anna Hazare said on Thursday.

Speaking to newsmen after visiting the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram here, Anna Hazare said ‘I have been fighting against corruption and bribe since 26 years of age.

‘One day I was thinking about the nation and at the same time I saw Vivekananda’s poster at railway station.

‘Then I got a Vivekananda book. His thoughts changed my life. Selfless life is best to serve the nation. I think with marriage, it becomes difficult to serve the nation and I decided to live a bachelor’s life.’

The crusader against corruption on Wednesday visited Kudalasangama where he was presented ‘Basava Krishi Award’ instituted by Lingayat Panchamasali Jadguru Maha Peetha.

He also visited Rani Chennamma Samadhi on Wednesday night at Bailhongal.

He said ‘I don’t fear death. I will fight against corruption whole of my life.

‘People also fight against corruption and lead a selfless life. Selfish life is not good for health or the society,’ he said. He appealed to his followers in Karnataka to join hands in his fight against corruption. He said that accepting bribe will lead to unhealthy societyand that people should adopt Vivekananda’s thought to their life. There is no value for selfish life, he added.

He later spent some time in meditation at Ashram premises. (UNI)
