SHILLONG: The BJP on Saturday announced its first list of candidate for the upcoming 2013 Assembly election in Meghalaya.
The party’s Central Election Committee led by president Nitin Gadkari in the presence of senior BJP leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and others have decided to allot the ticket for Nartiang constituency to VeecareNicia Lamare, while Andy Lyngwa has been chosen as the party candidate from Pynthorumkhrah constituency which had a BJP legislator (AL Hek) who later defected to the Congress.
Other candidates include Romeo Phira Rani (Shillong East), Augustine Lakiang (Shillong South), Ehkupar Nongrum (Nongthymmai), Fairly Bert Kharngi (Nongkrem), Philip Sangma (Rajabala), Bhupendra B Hajong (Salmanpara) and Sisir Marak (Dalu).
